Project Details

Located in Majura, Canberra, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Forensics and Data Centre Facility is a 13,600 sqm state of the art new construction. The purpose-built facility contains PC2 and PC3 rated laboratories, provides highly specialised spaces and maintains a strict level of compliance to ensure the AFP maintains its world-class standards in forensic operations, forensic science policy, research and training.

Benmax were engaged by Cockram Construction Ltd to complete the mechanical services installation and commissioning for the building comprising of modern energy efficiency and water conversation measures. The facility incorporates complex mechanical operations including humidity control, filtration, high air change rates, air pressurisation and 100% fresh air systems, as well as fume cupboards and local exhaust systems.

Awarded the highest honour at the 2018 ACT Architecture Awards, the Canberra Medallion, the design of the facility incorporates significant environmental benefits, including energy efficiency initiatives and water conservation measures.
