The Canberra Airport Multiuser Terminal project was a $460m redevelopment of the existing terminal precinct and is the largest privately funded piece of public infrastructure ever built in Canberra.
With the client’s vision to create the ‘best small airport in the world’ the works, undertaken in and around the existing and operational terminal, included a new 50,000m² terminal, two 38,000m² car parks with office accommodation on the top levels, a central elevated road, road network infrastructure and upgrading and extension to aprons and taxiways to service the aircraft.
Partnering with Hindmarsh Construction, Benmax delivered the HVAC mechanical services for the $203 million purpose-built Research School of Physics and Engineering (RSPhys) at the Australian National University, Canberra.
A landmark facility in terms of design and complexity, the 15,461 sqm building combines administrative and teaching spaces, large 250-person auditorium, boardroom and seminar areas, with critical laboratory spaces including stable labs, specialist equipment rooms, cleanrooms (ISO 5, ISO 6 and ISO 7 standard), and microscope rooms.
Working in partnership with Amalgamated Property Group and Construction Control, Benmax delivered the HVAC mechanical services for the $196 million Civic Quarter Tower 2 project located in Canberra’s CBD.
Adjacent to the CQ1 building, the award-winning facility offers 35,000 sqm in nett lettable space (NLA) across 11 levels of A grade commercial office accommodation. It encompasses state-of-the-art technology and the highest in environmental credentials including a NABERS energy rating target in excess of 5 stars, Green Star and Wellness initiatives.
