Project Details
Housing one of the largest tri-generation plants in Australia, Majura Central Energy (formerly known as Aeropark) was constructed at the Majura Office Park in Canberra. The plant was designed to supply chilled water, heating hot water and cooling water to the surrounding buildings at 1 Wellington Place, 5 Wellington Place,11 Lancaster Place and 15 Lancaster Place.
Awarded the project contract, Benmax installed the tri-generation system that has a cooling capacity of 5300kWR, including the absorption chiller, and a heating capacity of 3900kW from the natural gas fired boilers. Additional heating can be obtained from the heat rejected by the 1000kW natural gas generator. The project was successfully completed in 2008.
