Benmax secures mechanical services for UNSW Canberra City

Benmax ACT has secured the HVAC mechanical services contract from Construction Control for Stage 1 of the UNSW Canberra City campus, a major new education and research development in the heart of the capital.

Located at the corner of Constitution Avenue and Coranderrk Street in Parkes, the $250 million first stage comprises two six-storey, low-carbon buildings linked by elevated bridges. The development will bring together teaching and research spaces with retail and cultural facilities, with architecture, interior design and landscape architecture led by Hassell.

The campus is designed to connect students, researchers and industry, supporting collaboration across defence, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital engineering, climate and public policy. Building on UNSW’s long-standing presence in the ACT, the precinct is expected to welcome up to 6,000 staff and students.

Construction is underway, with Stage 1 expected to open in 2028. Benmax ACT will deliver the mechanical services for this new hub of learning, research and innovation.
