UoN Q Building recognised for building excellence

Congratulations to Hansen Yuncken and the University of Newcastle on their recent award wins at the 2022 Newcastle Excellence in Building Awards.

The awards celebrate commercial and residential building excellence, craftmanship and expertise in the Newcastle region and the UoN Q Building was recognised in two categories taking home Winner of the Best Public Building ($20m–$30m) and Winner for Best Use of Glass (Commercial).

Benmax were a member of the project team assembled by Hansen Yuncken for the delivery of the Q Building project. The 3,200 sqm new construction is the first in the university’s Honeysuckle Campus Master Plan and incorporates innovative design and sustainability measures to minimise its environmental impact. It is the first building in regional NSW to achieve a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built Rating.

We congratulate Hansen Yuncken and the broader Q Building project team on these awards. They are well-deserved recognition for the quality workmanship and outstanding effort contributed by all partners.
