Benmax was a key member of the project team assembled by Manteena to deliver the East Edge 2 new construction project located in Faulding Street, Symonston. The architecturally designed and sustainable building offers 6,600 sqm of PCA A grade commercial accommodation over three levels with flexibility to cater for multi-tenancies from 240 sqm to a whole building lease holder.

On track to achieve a 5.5 star NABERS rating, the building is all electric meeting the ACT Government’s environmental and sustainability goal of eliminating gas. Key features include the design and installation of two 4-pipe heat pumps that are capable of simultaneous cooling and heating, providing both CHW and HHW (instead of a traditional chiller and boiler approach), AHUs being served 6-12°C CHW and 45-40°C HHW, VAV systems serving the open office floors, in slab heating in the ground floor central atrium, and air-to-air heat exchanger FCU serving the end of trip facility.

Construction of the project commenced in June 2022 with Manteena undertaking demolition and excavation works at the site. The Benmax team completed work on the site in early 2024.
