Collaborating with construction specialists Hansen Yuncken, Benmax recently delivered the mechanical services for the $45 million Maitland Administration Centre project. Located in the heart of Maitland, NSW, the project involved the construction of a new 5,000 sqm fit-for-purpose administration building, as well as the upgrade of the existing 2,520 sqm heritage listed Town Hall building.

Maitland is a rapidly growing community and the new building has enabled the Maitland City Council to bring their expanding team together in one central location improving public connectivity and accessibility to services.

The new administration building links to the existing Maitland Town Hall building via a central two storey atrium and is striving to a achieve a 4.5 star to 5 Star NABERS rating. Initially, it will accommodate 537 occupants with capacity to increase to 726 occupants over the expected life of the building. The space incorporates an open plan office layout, board and meeting areas, storage rooms and end of trip facilities for tenants.

Benmax successfully handed over the project in early 2023.

Since completion, the Maitland Administration Centre has gone on to receive several accolades, including the prestigious Newcastle Medal at the 2024 Newcastle Architecture Awards, and we congratulate project partners for their achievements.
