As a Welding Apprentice, you’ll work in our busy mechanical workshop to help build the components that keep large commercial buildings running. You’ll learn to interpret plans, use a range of welding techniques and machinery, and develop practical skills that will set you up for a long and rewarding career with us.
A day in the life:
You’ll spend your days in the workshop working alongside experienced fabricators and welders. You’ll help cut, shape and assemble metal components used in commercial HVAC systems. You’ll learn to read drawings, measure precisely, operate machinery safely, and complete welding tasks to a high standard. It’s practical, detailed work that takes focus, patience and pride in your craft.

We’re offering full-time apprenticeships with our Canberra team for people ready to kick off their career in HVAC.
You will:
- Learn on the job while completing your Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication)
- Develop skills in MIG and TIG welding, fabrication, and mechanical assembly
- Work on real components used in hospitals, data centres, schools and other large projects
- Be part of a supportive team environment that values safety, quality, and teamwork

What you’ll need:
- Current Australian working rights (must be able to gain security clearance)
- Finished Year 12 or equivalent
- A valid driver’s licence
- A genuine interest in learning a technical trade
- Good attitude, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
