IT Service Delivery Manager
Benmax is one of Australia's most experienced mechanical services and HVAC businesses. Founded in Canberra more than 40 years ago, we design, construct, manufacture and maintain complex heating, ventilation, air conditioning and cooling systems for some of the country's most significant buildings and institutions. Today we are scaling rapidly into AI infrastructure, manufacturing advanced cooling systems for a new generation of data centres.
We're after an IT Service Delivery Manager who knows how to run a tight ship commercially, who's comfortable owning outcomes, and who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when the team needs a hand. This is a genuine leadership role with real scope: you'll shape how IT services are delivered across the business, set the standard for what "good" looks like, and make sure the systems, platforms and support that keep Benmax running are reliable, secure and built for where the company is heading.
What you'll be doing
You'll lead the delivery and operational performance of IT services and end-user support across Benmax, translating our ICT strategy into practical, working solutions. Day to day, that means:
- Building and developing a team that delivers exceptional service and supports the company's broader goals
- Managing relationships with vendors, carriers, managed service providers and group IT teams, keeping cost, performance and communication on track
- Overseeing core platforms including Microsoft 365, identity and access management, networking, Wi-Fi, backups and telephony
- Owning our cyber security posture, including endpoint protection, MFA, patching and incident response
- Managing the full lifecycle of technology assets, from procurement through to upgrades and support
- Setting up the governance that keeps everything running smoothly: policies, procedures, documentation and service agreements
- Reporting on performance and cost, and driving the improvements that come out of it
- Planning and delivering technology projects and system integrations, keeping them within scope and on track
- Managing incidents and disruptions when they happen, coordinating the response and keeping people informed
What you'll bring
- Minimum five years' experience in IT, including two years in a service delivery leadership capacity
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT
- Demonstrated experience in IT procurement, licensing and vendor management
- Proficiency across Microsoft 365, Windows, cloud environments, networking and endpoint management
- Sound knowledge of cyber security fundamentals, including the ACSC Essential Eight
- Strategic mindset, coupled with a readiness to contribute at an operational level when required
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing or another multi-site, field-based industry is a bonus, as is experience integrating IT environments after an acquisition or within a group structure. Industry certifications (Microsoft, ITIL, CompTIA, networking or security) will also work in your favour.
