Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Apprentice (1st Year)
Start your career in a trade that’s in high demand
Why choose this trade? Everyone’s heard of an electrician, but not many know about HVAC. That means there’s high demand for qualified techs like these. It's a smart career move, with excellent pay and job security.
As an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Apprentice, you’ll learn to maintain and service commercial heating and cooling systems – big, technical equipment in places like hospitals, shopping centres, and large buildings. You’ll work with a friendly team on a variety of tasks and build real skills for life.
A day in the life:
You’ll head out with the team each day to different sites around Canberra - shopping centres, hospitals, schools, and office buildings. Some days you’ll be fixing a problem, other days you’ll be making sure everything is running as it should. You’ll be hands-on from the start, learning how the systems work, using tools, and figuring things out alongside people who want to help you learn. It’s active, technical work that keeps you thinking.
