Benmax has a long history with The Canberra Hospital having completed many projects within the precinct over the years. In 2019, the Benmax team is back on site undertaking a number of major plant and equipment upgrades. The replacement of a series of mechanical switchboards is already complete, with work on the priority chilled water and electrical upgrades also underway. Further works are scheduled and will see the team on site until late 2019.
The experience of the Benmax team in delivering numerous hospital upgrade projects has been key throughout the works. With the facility requiring 24/7 chilled water supply for air conditioning and cooling of laboratory equipment (even in the winter months), the planning and execution of staged works to ensure uninterrupted supply at the site has been crucial. In addition, precision planning with our client and its service delivery partners has been required to complete numerous crane lifts throughout the project period. The lifts have been necessary to deliver major plant, prefabricated modules, pipe and electrical componentry to the elevated plantroom, located at the highest point of the ten-storey building.
Through our service and maintenance arm, Benmax also provides maintenance services to The Canberra Hospital ensuring their equipment and systems maintain operation and ongoing efficiency
