Project Details
Located in West Sydney, the Castle Towers Shopping Centre is currently undergoing a major transformation that when complete will see it become Australia’s second largest shopping precinct. Benmax secured the mechanical services contract for Stage 2 Enabling Works for the project in late 2016, with the project including the demolition of three existing plantrooms and the building of two new plantrooms.
One of the major challenges of the project was maintaining uninterrupted operation of the centre’s cooling conditions whilst constructing and reconfiguring multiple new central energy plants within the same plant space as the demolished plantrooms. The work of the Benmax digital engineering team in utilising BIM and 3D viewing platforms greatly assisted the site team and broader project partners ensuring this occurred successfully.
Benmax completed work on this stage of the project in early 2018 and has gone on to complete further stages of work in the major redevelopment project.
