Project Details
The iconic Christchurch department store recently completed a major redevelopment of its city centre store to reinstate buildings and services lost or damaged during the 2011 earthquakes. The redevelopment included the construction of a new European inspired four-storey building at the Lichfield Street site compromising of a basement, two floors of retail and office space, and carparking above. Upgrades to the existing building structures were also undertaken allowing for the new building to seamlessly link with the existing structure.
The Benmax team worked in partnership with Naylor Love Construction to deliver the HVAC mechanical services for the new construction building. A key component of this project was the use of prefabricated and modular fabricated equipment allowing for improvements in programming, on-site productivity and safety of personnel. Benmax successfully completed the project in 2019.
