Project Details
The iconic Christchurch department store recently completed a major redevelopment of its city centre store to reinstate buildings and services lost or damaged during the devastating 2011 earthquakes.
The redevelopment project saw the construction of a new 2,600 sqm European inspired five level building at the Lichfield Street site compromising of a basement, premium retail space, offices and meeting rooms, and covered and open-air car parking. Upgrade works to an existing building were also undertaken allowing for the largely steel and concrete new building to seamlessly link with the existing structure.
The Benmax team worked in partnership with Naylor Love to deliver the HVAC mechanical services for the high-quality new building. To meet the client’s tight construction program the team utilised BIM technology along with prefabricated and modular fabricated equipment to support improvements in programming, productivity and on-site safety successfully delivering the project as scheduled in 2020.
