Project Details
Benmax was contracted to undertake the design and construction of Australian Data Centre’s (ADC) Canberra based facility offering 3,000m2 of Tier III design certified technical space. Providing tenants with a high degree of flexibility, the facility can accommodate multiple technologies and power densities. The provision of centrally managed large-scale mechanical and electrical infrastructure allows ADC to take advantage of the latest in data centre design technology including POD or prefabricated units, high density computing with supplemental in-row precision cooling, hot and/or cold aisle containment technology, as well as highly secure privately raised floor suites and caged areas.
The experience of the Benmax team in utilising building information modelling (BIM) on the project assisted in meeting the practical completion date, with the technology utilised for off site pre-fabrication of the pipework and ductwork systems. The projects integrated testing was successfully completed in November 2013 marking a two month on site installation timeframe.
