Benmax has secured the mechanical services contract for stage one refurbishment works at the Australian National University’s College of Asia and the Pacific located in Canberra. The college is positioned within the iconic Coombs Building comprising of three interlinked hexagon shaped buildings. Stage one works, due for completion in mid-2019, will focus on refurbishment of the three-storey South Hexagon to improve temperature management across the building.
Over the next three years, the University will complete major upgrade works across the Coombs facility including improvements to the building’s interior entrance and foyer, teaching spaces, administration areas, common facilities and the College of Asia and the Pacific Student Centre, while also enhancing the external building façade.
