Project Details
Awarded the contract by highly regarded builder McKee Fehl, Benmax is currently on site delivering the HVAC mechanical services for the new $64 million commercial office project located at 8-14 Willis Street, Central Wellington.
The 11 level storey tower is striving for an internationally recognised 6 Green Star rating and 5 Star NABERS energy efficiency rating that would provide a world leading rating for building design, construction and operation. When complete, the 11,800 sqm building will be home to Statistics New Zealand and accommodate approximately 1,000 workers per day.
A key reason Benmax were selected for this project was the extensive experience of our team in delivering buildings that utilise chilled beam technology, and that focus on green star and energy efficiency ratings. With construction of this new building occurring at the same time seismic strengthening and refurbishment works are being completed on an adjacent building, the experience of the our team in delivering staged works is proving essential in ensuring the project is delivered in a coordinated manner with the builder and subcontractors.
The project is expected to be completed in 2022.
