Project Details
The Benmax team is currently on site delivering the base building mechanical services package for the 10,449 sqm new commercial construction located at the Bowen Campus in the parliamentary precinct of Wellington, New Zealand.
Awarded the contract by LT McGuinness Ltd, the six storey office building will be built to 100% compliance with the New Building Standard (NBS) and is striving to achieve a 4 Star NABERS rating and 5 Star Green Star rating.
This building is the first of two planned buildings at the site, to be later joined by a central atrium, and offers the latest in efficient and flexible workspace design for tenants as well as on site café, retail and extensive end of trip amenities.
Importantly, the building will utilise the latest in seismic technology to minimise earthquake damage and ensure business continuity through multiple seismic events. This technology will be applied to the construction of the building, including the mechanical services, to protect the structure and prevent the accumulation of damage over time.
Benmax has delivered numerous construction projects incorporating seismic technology most notably the MPI National Biocontainment Laboratory and the Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct and is looking forward to successfully delivering another premium project for the people of Wellington.
