ANU Central Energy Plant
Designed to provide heating and cooling water to the buildings constructed under the university’s Colleges of Science Project, the plant was designed with capacity to connect additional buildings at a later date as further work on the campus was completed.
Having completed a number of projects at the Australian National University campus in Canberra, Benmax undertook the establishment of the central energy facility in 2011. Designed to provide heating and cooling water to the buildings constructed under the university’s Colleges of Science Project, the plant was designed with capacity to connect additional buildings at a later date as further work on the campus was completed.
The Central Plant Facility includes boilers and chillers for storage and recovery of waste heat, in addition to a combined greywater and blackwater treatment facility capable of supplying all heating and chilled water to the Wes Whitten Building (animal facility), Biosciences Research Facility, and combined Biosciences and Teaching Chemistry Teaching Laboratory Building.
