Calvary Bruce Private Hospital officially opens

29 09 17

In July 2017, Benmax completed mechanical works on the new Calvary Bruce Private Hospital, Canberra, and earlier this week the new facility officially opened to the public.

The 118-bed hospital began welcoming patients on 12 September and will now service the rapidly growing population of North Canberra.

Benmax was awarded the mechanical services contract for the building by AW Edwards Pty Ltd, with the $77 million project further demonstrating our capacity for the design, supply, install and commissioning of work for complex health buildings.

The new seven storey hospital building features eight state-of-the-art digitally integrated theatres capable of accommodating day procedures through to complex surgery, CCU/HDU facilities, patient wards and recovery areas, clean sterilisation department, rooftop plantroom as well as a dedicated operating theatre plantroom within the building. The facility incorporates a range of environmental sustainability initiatives using best practice approaches to minimise energy consumption and manage waste.

Benmax is proud to have been involved in the project given the critical role the facility will play in thousands of people's lives over the coming years.
